Mother Manual | February

One of my favourite parts about MOTHER SPF is connecting with you, our supportive conscious community.
With that in mind, I love sharing what I’m following, watching, loving, and using each month in the hopes that they bring you as much joy and inspiration as they bring me.

A Qualified Nutritionist + GAPS Practitioner, Jordie is my go-to for healthy swaps. She’s even put together the perfect low-tox sunscreen guide, and of course, MOTHER SPF made the list multiple times 🙂
She also recently wrote a blog post on her favourite low-tox summer staples—lots of goodies here, and we might have received another mention too.
EASY LOW-TOX SWITCH
If you use bronzing drops like the Drunk Elephant Drops in your makeup routine, we recommend switching to our Mother of Pearl Bronzing Drops.
Drunk Elephant isn’t the only brand to create bronzing drops—ours are the perfect natural alternative, sans the preservatives.
Why switch?
The Drunk Elephant bronzing drops use the preservative Phenoxyethanol, which has been linked to reactions like eczema and severe allergic responses. If you have sensitive skin, this is a must-swap.
P.S. We’re running a promo: Spend $100 and get the Golden Glow for free.
Even I’m on my last legs of Pearl! I use it daily, not just for the glow but also for protection from pollution and blue light.
WATCHING
Landman
Billy Bob Thornton leads this money-grabbing thriller series from Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan, set in the world of big oil.
If you haven’t watched Yellowstone yet, I highly recommend it.
Landman is set in the boomtowns of West Texas, telling a modern-day story of fortune-seeking in the oil industry. It’s an upstairs/downstairs look at roughnecks and wildcat billionaires fuelling a boom so big it’s reshaping our climate, economy, and geopolitics.
A series about fossil fuels? From us? Feels a little off brand. But our reliance on them—and the toll on Mother Earth—is no joke. It takes a lighthearted look at a heavy issue, because the land gives us everything.

Daily Breath work: The quickest way to calm your nervous system
I’ve subscribed to School of Breath, an online platform with guided breath work videos you can do anywhere, anytime. Sessions range from 3 to 30 minutes and are suitable for all levels. It’s only $5 a week!
I start every morning with breath work, no need to sit up, just breathe. It sets the tone for my day with a clear mind and a sense of calm. I do it while wearing my Omnilux mask—a perfect example of habit stacking (and glowing skin to match).
Breath work isn’t just great for your nervous system, it also increases oxygen flow, which benefits your skin. I was lucky enough to interview Meg, the founder of School of Breath, about its incredible benefits - read here
